The below policies are applicable to the website of the Cancer Registry of Greater California (CRGC) which is a program of the Public Health Institute (PHI), the website located at http://www.crgc-cancer.org and any other pages associated with the http://www.crgc-cancer.org domain (the “Website”) however the Website is accessed and/or used, whether via personal computers, mobile devices or otherwise, and other interactive features, applications (including mobile applications), or downloads that are operated by PHI (“we” and “us”) that are made available by us.

This policy may change from time to time. When it does, PHI will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of this Website after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

As a general matter, you can browse the Website without submitting information by which you may be personally identified. However, there are a number of circumstances in which you may elect to provide us with information such as your first and last name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, or any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline (“Personal Information”).

The following lists the most common ways in which we collect your Personal Information.

PHI adheres to the highest standards of ethical practices in all our operations and is dedicated to protecting the privacy of all visitors to the websites of our programs.

We don’t sell, barter, give away, or rent your Personal Information. Except as disclosed below, we don’t permit anyone outside CRGC to use or access your Personal Information, and in all cases we only share your Personal Information where it is in the legitimate interest of furthering PHI’s mission.  

CRGC uses third party service providers and independent contractors to help us operate the Website and administer activities on our behalf, such as collecting donations online, processing applications for employment, or providing analytics, maintenance or site improvement and operational support. These third party entities may have access to Personal Information necessary to perform their function, but are required to protect the confidentiality of the information and to use it only for the limited purpose for which it was provided.

CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16

Protecting the privacy of children is especially important. Our Website is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not use or provide any information on this Website through any of its features on the Website, and do not provide any information about yourself to us, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn that we have collected or received Personal Information from a child under 16, we will delete that information. GDPR AND PERSONAL INFORMATION

The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) is a European Regulation concerning the use and processing of Personal Information. We are committed to processing your information in compliance with the GDPR.

We will use reasonable efforts to securely process all Personal Information in line with the rights specified under the GDPR, in particular those related to the following requests:

  • Access to your Personal Information;
  • Correction of the Personal Information that we hold;
  • Deletion of your Personal Information;
  • A restriction of processing of your Personal Information;
  • Transfer of your Personal Information to another party; or
  • Objection to processing of your Personal Information based on PHI’s legitimate interest (or those of a third party) to use it and there is something about your particular situation that causes you to object to such processing.

The Website is published in the United States and is subject to laws of the United States. If you are located in a country outside the United States and voluntarily submit Personal Information to us, you thereby consent to the general use of such information as provided in this Privacy Policy and to the transfer of that information to, and/or storage of that information in, the United States. CRGC shall not be liable under any circumstances for damages resulting from use of information collected from visitors to the Website.
